Obituary of Dionigi Maiorano

MAIORANO, Dionigi, 92, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2013 at the Niagara Health Hospital in St. Catharines, Ontario. He was born on April 28, 1921 in Avellino, Italy to Antonio and Concetta Maiorano. Predeceased by his devoted wife, Pasqualina for over 30 years. Loving father to Antonio Gerardo Maiorano (Giuseppina) and Michelina Cipriano. Predeceased by all of his siblings, Giuseppe Maiorano (survived by his sister-in-law Maria), Paolo Maiorano (survived by his sister-in-law Lutina), Carlo Maiorano (Filomena), Incornata Ciampi (Antonio), Michellina Casarella (Francesco). Dionigi will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by his many grandchildren, Angela Smith (Barry), Tony Cipriano, Gino Cipriano, Lina Caruso (Giancarlo) and Dina Maiorano. We will miss all of the many humorous stories of his life in Italy which he enjoyed sharing with us. Also missed with great affection from his many great- grandchildren, Andrea, Sarah, Hannah, and Rebekah Smith, Ernesto, Anthony and Larissa Caruso and Dylan Cipriano. The family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. With Vigil prayers taking place on Wednesday at 3 pm. The funeral mass to celebrate Dionigi’s life will be held at St. Alfred’s Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Our heart felt thanks go to the staff at West Park Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to the St. Catharines Food Bank (Community Care) would be greatly appreciated.
