Obituary of Leo Chester Stepien

STEPIEN, Leo Passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side on Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Mary for 64 years. Dear brother of Lottie Stacey (Lawrence), Kay Hatch (the late Bev), Chester (Eleanor), the late Joseph (the late Dorothy) and the late Ben (Pearl). Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Emilia Stepien. Leo will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and special friend Sophie Smith. Leo worked at General Motors in the lab for 50 years and retired in 1999. He enjoyed his music collection immensely, early years of travel, and had achieved the status of card shark. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, October 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street, on Monday, October 7th at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.
