Obituary of Helen De Young

De Young, Helen Marie (nee Cheevers) Passed away peacefully on October 23, 2013 in her 91st year. Loving Wife of Tom (deceased) Beloved mother of Ted (& Lesley) of Kitchener, Terry (& Cheryl) of Courtice, and Nancy (& Philip) Morrison of Bradford. Cherished grandma of Melissa, Michael, Michelle, Cameron (deceased), Meredith, & Sean. Great grandmother of Kinsie, and Coral De Young. Dear sister-in-law of Laura Cheevers of Grimsby. Survived by brother Gerald Cheevers of Thorold. Predeceased by her brothers William, and Leo. Helen lived at Anchor Pointe for 4 years and has many friends and aquaintances there. A former employee of T.J. Welsh and Thompson Products , Helen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Heartfelt thanks to her family and friends and those at Anchor Pointe. Friends will be recieved at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Vigil Prayers will take place on Sunday. A Mass celebrating Helen's life will be held at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11 am. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations in Helen's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
