Obituary of Petronella Cornelia Delhez

DELHEZ, Nellie It is with great sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of our dear mother and grandmother on November 5th at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband John Delhez and granddaughter Karen Guagliano. Much loved mother of Maria (Dean) Caya, Carla Long, Joanne (Bryan) Frid and Joy Dusek (Rob Bell), dear Oma of 12 grandchildren and devoted Oma of 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by one sister in Canada and 6 brothers and sisters in Holland. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Alfred's Parish for many years. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Nellie's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, November 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 11th at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street at 11am. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3pm. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Rankin Cancer Run or Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
