Obituary of Fabrizio Perfetti

Perfetti, Fabrizio - On November 18, 2013, with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fab (Fabrizio) after a 3rd battle with cancer at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 71. He leaves behind his wife and best friend Joanne of 46 years; his cherished children Doranne and James, and his "Little Man" Rocky. Also left to mourn are his sisters Cecilia (Luciano), Maria and their families, as well as many cousins and friends. He had a wonderful support system. Fab retired from GM after 30 years of service and then he followed his passions - family, friends, his dog, woodworking, travelling, golf, playing cards and watching F1. He will be remembered for his great courage and his positive attitude. He was a fighter who battled harder and longer than anyone could have expected. He won the battles but ultimately lost the war. Special thanks go out to Dr. Samosh, Muggs and the staff at the Walker Family Cancer Centre; Dr. Kandasamy and Syl; Dr. Nolan and Dr. Johanson; Fr. Goodwin; Sue from St. Elizabeth's; Irene from CBI; the staff in the Emergency Department at the St. Catharines General Hospital as well as the ambulance attendants and the George Darte Funeral Home for all their kindness and care. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home at 3pm on Thursday. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Friday at 11am. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Catharines General Hospital - Walker Family Cancer Centre or The Rankin Cancer Run.
