Obituary of Marianna Banic

BANIC, Marianna July 7, 1918 - November 17, 2013 Passed away at Tufford Nursing Home, St. Catharines, on Sunday, November 17th, 2013 at the age of 95. Beloved mother of Ann (Ralph) Pagliuso and Henry (Connie) Banic. Devoted granny of Teresa (Michael) Timpano, Rob (Amy) Pagliuso, Joshua and Noah Banic. Especially proud of her great-grandchildren, Dante, Ana, Benjamin and Giulia. Predeceased by her parents Ignacy and Francesca Wawrzyniak, sister, Helen (Pawel) Slodowy and brother, Chester in Poland, and former husband Nick (2004), St. Catharines. Survived by nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Poland. Mary had a passion for her budgies, gardening, knitting and making cabbage rolls for her family. For many years she cared for stray cats, giving shelter and food with the aid of Animal Care. Her youthfulness, strength, fierce independence and sharp mind will always be remembered. Many thanks to caring staff of Tufford Nursing Home, during her brief stay, March of Dimes and Community Support Wellness program, Niagara Region. In memory of Marianna's giving spirit, a donation to March of Dimes would be appreciated by the family.
