Obituary of Garnet Emerson Earle

Earle, Garnet - (January 2, 1934 - November 18, 2013) At the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 79 in the presence of his family. Cherished husband of Barbara (nee Chassie) of 45 years. Loving father of Carol (Bill), Donnie, Robbie (Heather), Steven (Tina). Proud Grandpa/Poppa of Paul, Shannon, Ryan, Corey, Melissa, Matthew, Josh, Nicholas, Sydney, Ava and Roscow. Survived by brothers Ralph (the late Betty), Clayton (Gloria), and sister-in-law Helen and many beloved nieces and nephews. Also will be sadly missed by brother-in-law Ron (Dave), sisters-in-law Francey (the late Larry), and Shirley. A very special uncle to Jared, Sean, Chris and "surrogate dad" to niece Jenn. Predeceased by his parents Ethel and Frank, 6 brothers, 3 sisters-in-law and sister-in-law Jackie. Garnet was a sheet metal man "A Great Tin Banger" by trade. He was a "Jack of all trades and master of ALL." Many family and friends were the grateful recipients of his generous talents and skills. Garnet was made a Life Member of St. Catharines Minor Baseball. Coaching and mentoring young players and his sons was a passion that was very fulfilling to him. Garnet had a soft spot for families that were unable to bear the associated costs. If so desired, donations may be made to Wise Guy's Charity. A special gathering for Garnet will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24, 111 Church Street on Thursday at 1pm. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home, 905-937-4444. Cremation has taken place.
