Obituary of Linda Dwyer

DWYER, Linda Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the comfort & love of her family on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013 at the age of 60. Linda was the best friend and loving wife of Jim DeLine, devoted, caring mother of Holly Dwyer Hall (Stephen Hall) & Amanda Dwyer, stepmother of Courtney DeLine and gentle, loving Gramma to Gabriel Hall (“The Gabster”). Thoughtful, caring sister of Diana Crumb (Robert), Andy Fakla (Nancy), John Fakla (Diane), Stan Fakla (Maggie) & Ed Fakla (Donna). Special sister-in-law of Tom DeLine (Linda), Karen Kushniruk (late Dr. Bill), Diane MacIntyre (Frank), Terry Cochrane (Graham), late John DeLine (Ina). Cherished Aunt to many nieces & nephews and special friend of Joe Dwyer, grandfather to her girls. Linda is predeceased by her beloved mother Kathleen and father Andrew Fakla & John and Margaret DeLine. Linda lived life to the fullest every day. Through her close friendships, much loved work as a school secretary at Assumption Catholic School, and joyful family life, she received and brought much joy to those around her. Her warmth, laughter and gentle listening will be deeply missed by those who knew her well and took comfort in her presence. The family extends sincere gratitude for the tremendous care of Dr. Phillip Hughes and Nurse Barb of the Oncology Department at St. Catharines General Hospital & the nursing staff of 3B, Dr. Jennifer Frendo & the team at Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Linda’s family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, December 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Linda’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lung Cancer Canada or the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
