Audrey and family. So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I had lost touch with Jim over the years and it was only a year or so ago that we were in touch again. I had called Jim and sent him the outcome of my research into his parents family history.
I recall when we first immigrated to Winnipeg from Scotland in 1951 and stayed for the first few days with my mother's aunt and uncle (Jim & Jean (Jane)Galloway) at their home on Downing Street. I remember many happy times with Jim, his brother Dave and sister Rae and their families.
Jim will be missed.

Always remember our family getting together with Jim at my Aunt Jean's, or Rae's, or Dave's home when I was growing up in Winnipeg.
Jim was always the very quiet one, a real gentleman.
I really enjoyed our visits with him.
My Dad and Jimmy were both with Trans Canada Airlines at the time and I loved to hear all the aviation stories.
When my parents , Hugh and Betty moved to St. Catharines my parents would always visit Jim and Audrey and Dad would enjoy watching out the window, overlooking the ravine, at all the wildlife with Jim, both feeding whatever sort of animal would come up to the patio. My parents were always welcomed at the Galloway home, as were my family.
Jim , Pauline and family extend our heartfelt condolences to Audrey and the Galloway family.

Jim and I got flight trained on the DC9 together . Jim offset a humourless instructor and salvaged what could have been a dreary experience. It was always a pleasure having Jim as a friend and a colleague .

The world is a poorer place without Jim.
1:We sat side by side through a TriStar course. We had buttons A-B-C-D on our desktops hidden from view, with which to answer displayed questions. The instructor watched the answers arriving in order to assess his success, and ours. Jim leant over and whispered, "push button B". It was wrong and he knew it.... so the instructor went over the whole topic again, and when I wasn't looking Jim routed his hand under my arms and pushed my button B. There was the devil to pay.
2: Jim claimed his mother lived in north central Manitoba near the Sask. border. At two in the morning, local, (more than once) a voice sang out into the silent sky over the prairies - - "Hi, Mom!".
I'll remember him till I go.

Our sincere condolences to you and the family Audrey. We remember Jim with fond memories. He was one of the first to welcome us when we moved in across the street on Woodside Cres. His reputation as a good pilot and a fine gentleman was well deserved.
Lynn and I hope that all the great memories of the times you had together will soften your huge loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I trained with him in 1974 on the 1011 and flew frequently with him on the line. I have many fond memories of time spent with Jim. I especially remember his tongue in cheek calling out for COFFEE moments after takeoff from his seat in the cockpit, every leg.
