Obituary of Maria Siolkowsky

SIOLKOWSKY, Mary - On January 2, 2014, surrounded by her family, Mary began her journey towards the Kingdom of Heaven to be reunited with her parents (Katherine and John Schudlo). She will be forever loved and remembered by her husband and best friend Nestor, children Terry, Micheal (Rosanna), and Ivanka. Grandchildren Natalie, Nicholas, Amelia and Helena will always love and miss their Baba. Mary is survived by her close family whom she cherished dearly­:Steve & Judi Schudlo, Bill & Odarka Schudlo, John & Hanya Schudlo, Mike & Irene Siolkowsky, and Lida & Randy White. She loved and was proud of all of her nieces, nephews and Godchildren. The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who were always with her. Mary was an active member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada, The Ukrainian Black Sea Hall, volleyball and gymnastics coach, and she was a teacher with the DSBN for 40 years. Mary is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 7 from 7:00-9:00p.m. and Wednesday, January 8 from 2:00-4:00p.m. & 7:00-9:00p.m. Panachyda will be served on Wednesday at 7:30p.m. in the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014. In lieu of flowers (because Mama was allergic), donations can be made to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Building Fund and to the Salvation Army.
