Obituary of Dr. Bruce Milligan

MILLIGAN, Dr. Bruce, Finally reunited with his beloved Joyce (2010), Bruce passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the age of 82. Cherished Dad of Janice and Ken Whitty, Jim and Ann Milligan and Kathryn Milligan. Loving Gramps of Brianne and Erin, Sarah and Stuart and Caitlyn and Madeline. Bruce is survived by his brother Paul Milligan (Deanna), Dr. Jim Wright (Karen) and his sisters-in- law Norma Carroll (Richard), Shirley Neelin, Patricia Walker (Brian) and brothers-in-law John Augerman (Gerrie) and Brian Augerman (Suzanne). Bruce was predeceased by his sister Barbara Wright (2005). Bruce will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Bruce was an involved grandparent, avid card player, curler, lawn bowler, talented stained glass artist and an active volunteer with Community Care and Friends of Linhaven. Bruce graduated from University of Toronto in 1956 and maintained a successful dental practice until his retirement. A special thank you to Dr. Arvinte and the nurses and staff of 2 West at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Bruce's life will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital or to Friends of Linhaven would be appreciated by the family.
