Obituary of Rina Josephine Ziraldo

ZIRALDO, Rina Josephine It is with profound sadness our family announces the unexpected passing of Rina who was taken from us on January 19th at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls. Surrounded by her family and friends, Rina peacefully began her journey towards the Kingdom of Heaven to be reunited with her parents Edward and Derna. She will be forever loved and remembered by her sister Isa, cousins Donald (Victoria), Paul and Bobby (Pixie), loving aunt to Deanna, Corey (Jenn), Kristen, Molly, Danny, Allie, Aspen, Kaya and Madigan. The family would like to thank the many close friends who have been by her side and kept her present in their thoughts and prayers. Rina taught for many years at St. Michael (NOTL), St. Alfred and Assumption Catholic Elementary Schools. The support the family has received from Rina's fellow teachers, students and friends who gave Rina such joy and happiness throughout her life has been graciously appreciated. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Greater Niagara General Hospital ICU. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Rina's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Friday, January 24th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 25th at Star of the Sea Parish, 34 Elgin Street, Port Dalhousie at 11am. Subsequently, there will be another service held in Rina's memory in Fagagna, Italy, her parents birthplace. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 3pm. There will be an inurnment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
