GREENSHIELDS, Dr. Colin A. Passed away peacefully in St. Catharines, Ontario on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014 at the age of 93. Colin was predeceased by his wives, Dorothy, Elsie and Mary, and loving friend Phyllis. He will be deeply missed by his sons Duncan (Elizabeth) and Christopher (Margaret), grandchildren Anna, John (Mariana) and Janice. Colin is also survived by his nieces, Darlene (Dennis) and Louise (Jim) and their families, together with his extended family. Remembered by his good friend Keith Dixon. Predeceased by his sister Lois (William). Colin graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic with a degree of Doctor of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, followed by post graduate studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario. Colin later served on the faculty, the board of management and was the President of CMCC. He was a dedicated chiropractor in St. Catharines for 40 years. His many awards included Chiropractor of the Year and he received the Palmer medal for 50 years of service to chiropractic and humanity. He was an Honourary and Life Member of CMCC as well as a life member of the Niagara Chiropractic Society and the Canadian Chiropractic Association. He touched many lives and was loved and respected by many. Many thanks to the staff and management of Anchor Pointe Retirement Home where Colin enjoyed many years of his retirement. Special thanks to Carolyn Thompson for many years of dedicated service. The family also expresses their appreciation to the staff at Niagara Gardens and Hospice Niagara for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, March 22nd at 2 p.m. Charitable memorial donations may be made to “The Dr. Colin Greenshields Award” at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, 6100 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario, M2H 3J1, or a charity of choice.
