Obituary of Stella Zabek

ZABEK, Stella (nee Lament) - Passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 16th, 2014 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Jim (1981). Cherished mother of Jim (Debra) Zabek, Christine (Robert) Lukanchoff and Rick (Debbie) Zabek. Loving Grandma of Rebecca (Kevin) Clark, Jennifer (Adam) Stewart, Sarah (Brandon) Berry, Adam Lukanchoff, James Zabek and Jessie Zabek. Great grandmother of Owen Clark, Leah Clark and Emmersyn Stewart. She will be sadly missed by her sister Teresa Pogoda and her sister in law Bernice Lament and her brother in law Joseph (Elizabeth) Zabek. She is predeceased by her brothers Stanley, Joseph, and Eddie Lament and her sister Mary Brzeczka. Stella was born in Poland. She loved flower gardening, animals and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her dogs Daisey and Molly. A sincere thank you to all the doctors and staff at the ICU at the Greater Niagara General Hospital and Paramedic Susan Snider for all their care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday from 7-9p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate Street, St Catharines on Thursday at 11a.m. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Humane Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
