Cameron, James 'Jim' - Passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara on Saturday, March 22, 2014 after a short illness in his 84th year. He was predeceased by sons James (1979) and Robert (1990). Survived by his sister Harriet (late Ross) Angiers; brother Ian (late Joan); nieces late Debbie (Tom) Burghall, Tracey (Bill) Taylor, Lynda (Vince) Purpura, Janet Peterson, Violet Wilkinson; nephews Gordie (Nancy), Robert Angiers, and their families. Jim was born in Niagara Falls and joined the Canadian Army in May 1951 and was stationed with NATO Forces in Germany from January 1952 to November 1953. He then worked at Port Weller Dry Docks until his retirement. Jim lived his life 'his' way and loved being out and about on his scooter (no matter what the weather) and visiting the Fallsview Casino. Thanks to the Alzheimer Society and March of Dimes staff who supported Jim in his residence for many years. A special thank you to the staff at Hospice Niagara for their compassionate care of Jim and for comforting and supporting our family. Family and friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 10:30-11:30 am, followed by a memorial service in the funeral chapel at 11:30 am. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
