Obituary of Joesph Thomas Grosse

Grosse, Joseph Thomas (Giuseppe Grossi) Peacefully at the Niagara Health System - St. Catharines Site on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the age of 95. Predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Ann (1996). Cherished and loving father of Anthony (Barb), and Ann Marie Citrigno. He will be deeply missed by his dear brother Thomas (Doris 2006), his loving nephew James Kerrio, nieces Carolyn Wallace, Rosanne (Gino Mastracci), and Rosemary (Ray Hedden). Also survived by nieces Victoria (Joe Di Cienzo), Anna (Ed Tollis), and nephew Angelo Carretta (Gail). Joseph will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great- nieces, great-great nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his infant brother Anthony and Palma Maria (1926). His parents Egidio (1961) and Maria (1969), his brother Benedict (1991) and sister- in-law-Ursula (2000), his sister Helena Kerrio (2009) and brother-in-law- Mike (2001). Joseph had a large circle of friends with whom he enjoyed spending time. Whether at the coffee shop, or at church, out for special dinners or at the "Cathedral", also at Bingo and Pasta Nights. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always prepared to go anywhere at anytime. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all family members and friends for all their visits and prayers while Joseph was in hospital. Thank you to members of the clergy for their spiritual guidance. Special thank you to the devoted and caring nurses and doctors of 4 A. Friends may visit at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines on Sunday, March 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 3 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10 am at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street, St. Catharines. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 HWY # 20, Fonthill. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Joseph's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Kidney Foundation, The Lung Association or Community Care would be appreciated by the family. He lived a long great life. He will miss us and we will miss him. Rest in peace
