Bettianne & Family:
Our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to you and all family members on the passing of our former partner, Barry. As a partner he was always caring and willing to assist where possible. As a Judge he was courteous and willing to listen to arguments and always treated lawyers appearing before him with professional courtesy and respect. We will greatly miss the opportunity to spend more time with him in his planned retirement. Our prayers are with you!! - - -Joseph & Julia

I was very fortunate to have worked with Barry when I was closely involved with the Family Court. His committment to family law was gracious and sincere. He worked with his heart and his intellect---both equally gifted. I always admired him as a colleague and a friend.
I am so sorry to learn of his untimely death. My heart is with his family.

I had the good fortune to know Barry while attending the University of Toronto. I read yesterday's death notice with very sad feelings; he clearly made a difference in his community, and will be missed greatly by his family and by his city. He was an irrepressible kind of guy, always upbeat, with a great sense of fun. Not ever complaining, always thinking of others: just a wonderful person.

Barry was a good friend and former neighbour. Years ago, as a single mother, I remember how he ran up the street guiding my children as they learned to ride their bicycles. I also remember how he did not hesitate, on a moments notice, to officiate at the marriage of my son's dear friend who had only two weeks to live. Both of these selfless gestures stand out and attest to Barry's caring, supportive personality. My thoughts are with Bettianne and the girls. You have been truly loved and cared for by an amazing husband and father. Barry's life has made a difference and impacted many lives.
