Obituary of Blanche Pigeon

PIGEON, Blanche (nee Sweeney) Passed away peacefully with her daughter Anne by her side on Thursday, August 7th at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husband Omer F. Pigeon (1977), brothers William (Ethel) and Edward (Kay) Sweeney and niece Linda Antle. Also predeceased by cousin Joseph Crites, sisters-in-law Simone (Maurice) Abrams and Yvonne (Laurence) Sweeney, and brother-in-law Armand Pigeon. Much loved mother of Anne. She will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Rita (the late Clarence) Birney and Annette (the late Michael) Foley and nieces, nephews and friends. Blanche always appreciated the special friendship she shared with Marie Lund. Mrs. Pigeon was a retired teacher formerly with L.C.S.S.B. Mrs. Pigeon's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday, August 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Monday, August 11th at 11am. Rite of Committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3pm. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be apppreciated by the family.
