Obituary of Maria Mikolajek

MIKOLAJEK, Maria - Peacefully passed away on Monday, August 11th at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Stefan Mikolajek (1988). Devoted mother of her son Adam. She is survived by her sister Janina Czapeczka of Poland. She will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. Maria was a Godmother to Jurek Szewczyk of Poland. Predeceased by sisters Stasia and Wladka of Poland. Maria was born in Poland, came to Canada in 1960 and she celebrated her golden 50 years of living as a Canadian citizen. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, the Holy Rosary Society and a member from the St. Catharines Canadian Polish Society. She will be sadly missed with her loving and caring heart she had and for others. Thank you to the nurses and personal support workers that have helped her in the past. A special thank you to Amanda for her sincere kindness, Lily Harb for her spiritual support and compassionate care, as well as all who have shown care and compassion through this difficult time. Mrs. Mikolajek's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday, August 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP CHURCH, 5 Oblate Street on Thursday, August 14th at 10am. Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:15pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Blessing to all!
