Obituary of Jeffery Ryan Smith

SMITH, Jeffery Ryan It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved son, Jeffery Ryan Smith who passed away in St. Catharines, ON on August 28, 2014 at the age of 38. Jeff leaves behind his loving parents John and Linda Smith, his brother and friend Chris (Gillian), nephew Toby and niece Beatrice. Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Jeff enjoyed a happy childhood in Hanover, ON before graduating from University of Guelph and Brock University earning degrees in Food Science and Oenology. Jeff found his passion as a highly regarded winemaker developing his skill in Tasmania, British Columbia and across the Niagara region. Jeff was a sweet and gentle soul who had many interests including golf, curling, tennis and jamming as a drummer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family gathered to say their last goodbyes at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, ON. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society (Waterloo Wellington), David Suzuki Foundation or Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center would be appreciated by the family.
