Obituary of Frieda Elizabeth Satkus

SATKUS, Frieda Elizabeth Passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, at the age of 95. Frieda was predeceased by her husband Vince and by her daughter Cathy. Frieda is survived by her son-in-law Robert Kaiser of Summerland, B.C. and grandchildren Aaron and Emily. Frieda will be dearly missed by her niece Biruta Carr, nephew Tony, and by many friends including those at the Loyalist here in St. Catharines. Frieda was born Frieda Schwartz, on November 23, 1918 in Jansen, Saskatchewan, and married her husband Vince on March 10, 1951. She worked for years at Diana’s Sweets in Niagara Falls. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Sunday October 26, 2014 from 2 - 4 p.m., and prior to the service on Monday, October 27 from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. A celebration of Frieda's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on October 27 at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow the service, at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
