Obituary of Rocco Giacomino

GIACOMINO, Rocco - Passed away with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 53. Many cherished memories with wife of 29 years, Anna, and daughters: Brittany (Paul), Amanda, and Victoria. Beloved son of the late Matteo & Filomena Giacomino and his loving in-laws Giovanni & Maria Celetti. Dear brother of Antoinette (Tony) Bozza and brother-in-law to Vince (Krystyna) Celetti. Uncle to Joe, Dave, Stephanie, and Daniel. Rocco graduated from Brock University and dedicated 30 years working alongside great friends at General Motors. Among his many pastimes, Rocco was a devoted Buffalo Bill’s fan, stock enthusiast, gardener, and the biggest fan of Anna’s cooking. A special thank you to his lifelong brother, Mario Popoli, who has been a pillar of strength by his side for over 50 years. The family is grateful to all staff at Hospice Niagara for the support and comfort they provided to Rocco. Gratitude is also extended to all family and friends for their generosity and love, especially to all of his coffee buddies who have kept Rocco laughing throughout the years. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday (today) from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Vigil Prayers will take place on Monday (today) at 3 pm in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia Church on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:30 am. As per Rocco's wishes, cremation will follow. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara or Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
