Obituary of Kathleen Julia Facey

FACEY, Kathleen Julia (nee Munro) Passed away peacefully with the love and support of her family on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the St. Cathartines General Hospital in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Lionel Facey (1986). Loving mother of Brian "Chip" (Adele) Facey. Cherished grandma of Amanda (James) Marshall and Janice Facey (Yul Beauchamps). Great grandmother "Grandma Kay" of Alana Marshall and Ian Beauchamps. Kathleen is also survived by her niece Barbara and her husband Robert Tardif. Predeceased by her sisters Margeurite Arnot and Jessie Munro. Kathleen was a Nursing Assistant at the Hamilton Sanatorium TB Hospital in the 1930's. She was also an avid walker and in good health at the age of 97. A special thank you to Dr. Garland and to the nursing staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital. Kathleen's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday, April 13, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. Cremation will follow and interment at a later date. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
