Obituary of Diane Charlotte Lennox
LENNOX, Diane Charlotte (nee Bendell): Born July 17th, 1941, in Hamilton, Ontario. Died December 15, 2014 - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family is announcing the death of our mother, best friend, confidante and beautiful lady Diane, beloved wife of John, passed away at St. Joseph’s in Hamilton. Married to John for over 56 years, mother to Kerrie-Lynn (Stephen Crouch), Allan (Cathy), Christopher (Terry Styles), Grandchildren Katelynn, Kelsey, Matthew, Ashley, Jaden, Deanna (Ken Jaitner), Marissa, Kevin, and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Dave(Joan), Fred(Gladys), Bruce(Lynne), Bonnie(Joe), Cheryl, Suzanne(Tom). Aunt Mary, Uncles Ernie and Fred. Predeceased by her mother Amelia, father Bill and brother Bill Bendell. Dearest sister-in-law to Martin (Sue), Valentine (Helen), Patricia (Don Poll) and many nephews & niece, and great nephews and niece. Predeceased by her in-laws Margo, Joan and Derek Lennox. Diane was an amazing women with many talents singing, playing musical instruments, flower arranging, cake decorating, painting, and all types of needle crafting. She loved helping others in any way whether it was to teach or lend an ear. She was a life time member of Dalhousie Yacht Club and member of the Port Dalhousie Legion. Former owner of Wool Nook of St. Catharines and Hamilton, and Sexton Florist. After many battles with illnesses that she overcame over the years we would like to thank CCAC-the support staff for their compassion and help, especially Rose from the March of Dimes, she was a great friend. Thank you to the Doctors and nursing staff from both the Hotel Dieu and St. Joseph’s hospital, especially Dr. D. Russell (St. Joseph’s) and Dr. Neville from Juranvanski CC. The family will receive visitors on Sunday at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Diane's Life will take place on Monday at 12:30p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at St. John Cemetery in Port Dalhousie to follow. Donations to the MS, Cancer or Kidney foundation would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
