Obituary of Angelo Marcella

MARCELLA, Angelo Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 62 years to Emma. Loving father of Ron (Alicia) and Maria (Bruno) Francescutti. Proud Nonno of Jonathan (Megan), Jason (Stephanie), Nicholas and Thomas. Dear brother of Corradina (the late Alfonso) Di Francesco. Angelo will also be fondly remembered by many friends and relatives in Canada and Italy. He is reunited with his loving parents, the late Nicola and Grazietta Marcella. Angelo was born in Farindola, Pescara, Italy and came to Canada in 1963 to reconnect with his sister and to establish a life here. After numerous jobs, he was an exemplary employee of Ferranti Packard for over 25 years. He was a longtime member of Club Roma and St. Alfred's Church. He loved hunting, gardening, singing and playing his accordion, and playing cards with his friends and family, who gave him his nickname "Sette Belle." Most important, the center of Angelo's universe was his family, whom he cared for and loved deeply. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Hamilton General Hospital-CCU for their special care. Angelo's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Friday, January 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Saturday, January 3rd at 9:30 a.m., with entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to St. Alfred's Church (Mass Card).
