Obituary of Mary Colt

COLT, Mary Ruth (nee Gardner) After a short struggle with cancer, Mary passed away peacefully at NHS-St. Catharines Site on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the age of 77 after being visited throughout the day by many family members and friends. Loving wife of 56 years to Stuart. Devoted mother of William and Heather (Adam). Proud grandma of Jason and Paige. Much loved sister to the late Richard (the late Marlene) Gardner, Pat (Duncan) Shaw, Jim Gardner and his friend Karen Innes, David (Laurie) Gardner. Mary will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and many close friends. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Elizabeth Gardner. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family. Mary was a proud graduate of McGill University, school of Phys. Ed, who thoroughly enjoyed her teaching time both in Montreal and St. Catharines. The family would like to express their profound gratitude to the caregivers at NHS-St. Catharines Site for their kindness and compassion. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, January 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Mary's life will take place on Tuesday, January 20 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
