Obituary of Vera Agnes Burley-Moore

BURLEY- MOORE, Vera Agnes (nee Andrews) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved angel, Vera, on Monday, March 9, 2015 at West Park Long Care Home, at the age of 87. Vera will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Gerry, step-son, Marc (Grace) Moore and by her special granddaughter, Ester Moore. Loving sister of Tom (Monique) Andrews, Dorothy (Donald) Gooche, Loretta Davidson, Harriett (Bob) Harkness and Irene Lange. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Frank Burley and also by her siblings Bernice (Con) Copeland, Marjorie Waite and Burton Andrews. Vera will be missed by her many friends through St. Mary's Church, CWL and by her friends at Linhaven (where she volunteered for 28 years). In her pastime, Vera enjoyed knitting and sewing. She prepared warm blankets for those in need through various organizations. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff at West Park for taking good care of my wife. Vera's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday, March 11, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Cres. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to Wells of Hope or to St. Marys- St. Vincent de Paul, which were charities that Vera was passionate about helping throughout her life.
