Obituary of Maria Molinaro

MOLINARO, Maria May 31, 1930 - March 19, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce Maria's passing with grace and dignity on Thursday, March 19th (on the day of the Feast of St. Joseph), in her 85th year. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Giuseppe "Joe" (1997). Much loved mother of Rose (Gaetano), Matilda (Joe), Frances (Nick), Mike (Gail), and Sam (Lidia). Predeceased by her two children John and Anna. Adored Nonna of Joey (Michelle), Sam, Carmela (Jason), Lori (Anthony), Melissa (Carl), David (Natalie), Stephen (Jessica), Matthew, Teresa (Jason), Jordan and the late Adam (2006). Adored great grandmother of Madison, Julia, Anthony Jr., Allison, Yvonne, Mattea, Carson, Lincoln, Caitlin, Justin and soon to be another great-grandchild. Survived by her much loved sister, Ida (the late Gaetano) DeVuono and her sister-in-law Maria Sara (the late Vincenzo). Predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law Raffaella (Antonio) Vigna and Erminia (Carmine). Maria will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives here and abroad. Mom was a quiet, soft-spoken, kind, generous and spiritual lady. Maria will be sorely missed and always loved. A special thank you to Mom's caregivers at Henley House for their care and compassion and also to the staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital. Maria's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Friday, March 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers being recited at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, donations given to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by Maria's family. "Rest in peace, Mamma"
