Obituary of Raymond William Ruetz

RUETZ, Ray 1919-2015 Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, April 3rd at Henley House. Predeceased by his wife Alvina (1990) and all his brothers and sister. Cherished dearly by his children Dennis, Marlene (Steve) Kobylansky and Joyce (Steve) Hadcroft, who feel proud of him and blessed to have shared so many years. Laura, Michael (Kristina Fast) and John value the many treasured moments spent with their Grandpa. Ray lived a full, active 96 years, giving and caring for many family members, always fixing or repairing things, developed a love of reading late in life and was quick to make others laugh with his sense of humour. He remained fiercely independent and played many games of pool up until his last birthday. Ray enjoyed and appreciated the visits from numerous family members in his last few weeks. Many thanks to the entire Henley team for their tender loving and attentive care. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, April 9th at 11:30am at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Burial in Victoria Lawn Cemetery will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
