Obituary of Caterina Petriello

PETRIELLO, Caterina (nee DiMatteo) Unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8th at the St. Catharines General Hospital in her 77th year. Much loved wife for 56 years of Guiseppe and beloved mother of Maria (Paul) Steingart, Angie Petriello (Corey), Filomena (Claudio) Guiducci and Gerardo Petriello. Loving Nonna of Jennifer, Rebecca (Mike), Alex, Dennis, Kurtis, Cameron and Katrina, and cherished Great Nonna of Seth. She will be missed by her sister Rochina (the late Domenico) Valvano of Italy, brother in law Nick (Assunta) Petriello, and sisters in law Filomena (Antonio) Valvano and Louisa Saporito. She will be forever cherished by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Vincenzo, Angelo (Lena), Alvito and Gerardo, sister Elvita, brother in law Michale (Guiseppina) and in laws Gaetano and Maria Petriello. Caterina's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, April 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Monday, April 13th at 9:30am. Entombment to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Rankin Cancer Run or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
