Obituary of Jacobus Petrus Rockx

ROCKX, Jacobus Petrus Jacobus Petrus, "Jack" returned to his heavenly home on May 9th, 2015 after a courageous battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 60 years, Joanne and loving children Ron (Karen), Annette (Brian) Brennan, Richard (Lisa) and Michael. Devoted Opa to all his 16 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his sister Audrey (Ted) VandenBoom and predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Collins, the staff of the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital and the CCAC staff for their compassion and support. Mr. Rockx's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL , 585 Carlton Street. St. Catharines on Tuesday, May 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 13th at St. Denis Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street at 10 am. Rite of Committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to St. Denis Church or the Warehouse of Hope would be appreciated by the family.
