Obituary of Alex "Doc" Alton
ALTON, Alex "Doc"
Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Mary for over 69 years. Much loved Dad of Carolyn (the late Ed) Hannaford, Earl (Diana), the late Kathy Bulitz, the late John (Chris) Alton, Alexa (the late Larry) Konkle and Eddie (Cyndi). Proud Papa of many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Doc will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, nieces, nephews and many friends here and in Florida. Alex worked for St. Catharines PUC for 33 years. Since his retirement, he enjoyed golfing as much as possible and will be missed by his friends at Sparrow Lakes. Alex proudly served his country in World War II. He was the regional director of War Amps, with a special interest in the CHAMP program. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, June 5 from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Doc's life will be held on Saturday, June 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program.
