I first met Bill in the early 1950s when he was a curate at St. James' Cathedral, and when I heard him preach it was evident he was destined for great things.I got to know him through the Cathedral 's Young People's Group, and he stayed with my parents, when he was guest speaker at my father's church in Medonte. In 1954 I married an Englishman and Bill performed the ceremony, in Trinity College Chapel, ( when it was in the library.....the present chapel was just being built).....
and subsequently christened our firstborn son, John, when he and Lois were visiting England, in 1956, at a charming church in Tanworth-in-Arden, Worcs.
I am sorry to be so late in sending my condolences, but I just came across the announcement this morning. He was an outstanding man, and a good friend.. With sincere wishes, Frances Houlston (nee Arthur)
