Obituary of Nicholas John Berswick

BERSWICK, Nicholas After what he described as a good life and a happy nine months at Heritage Place in Virgil, Nicholas Berswick, died peacefully on June 22, 2015 at the age of 86. Born January 27, 1929 in Glenella, Manitoba, he was the only child of the late John and Helen Berezuik. Nick is survived by his five children Randy (LeeLee), Brenda (Vince) Herchmer, Kevin (Eva), David, and Nicki (Dan) Keenliside. He was proud and delighted by his 10 biological and inherited grandchildren William (BJ) Mowat, Chris and Jason Herchmer, Marisa Berswick, Adam Horvath, Kyle and Kurtis Keenliside, and Jessica, Jillian, and Callie Berswick. He is also survived by his former wife, Wilma Berswick. Known as "Big Nick" during the 38 years he worked at GM in St. Catharines, he took pride in his job as a supervisor and his reputation there as a problem solver. In accordance to Nick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. If desired, In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heritage Place as a tribute to the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion demonstrated by their staff.
