Obituary of Michael Gregory Tateishi

TATEISHI, Michael Gregory †" Died suddenly on December 22nd at the age of 29 in Mississauga, Ontario. Born in St. Catharines on November 23, 1982, he will be deeply missed by his loving parents Marguerite and Darryl, sister Carolyn, brother Kevin (Kathleen and Miles), and aunts, uncles, and cousins, Sandra and Gary Kotack (Tamiko), Lorraine Irvine (Lara, Jeff, Leah), Norm and Colette Corbett (Melody, Daniel), Janice Corbett (Chris, Jennifer). Predeceased by uncle Robert Irvine, and grandparents, Margaret and Ivan Corbett and Eiko Tateishi. Michael graduated from Laura Secord Secondary School and completed a diploma in Woodworking Technology at Conestoga College. He worked for several years in Collingwood and then went back to school to study mechanical engineering technology at Sheridan College. He became a certified engineering technologist and worked at AMEC in Mississauga.†˜Uncle Mike†™, as he was known by his nephew, was a talented woodworker, and also enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, camping and martial arts. His family was very proud of his accomplishments and talents and will always remember his humour and kind heart. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 30 from 10am-12p.m. at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. A funeral service will follow at 12p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Distress Centre of Niagara or the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation would be appreciated.
