To Monsignor's Family: I was most aggrieved that I was away when Monsignor passed and was not able to offer my respects to your family. He was a wonderful priest and a true disciple of Christ. As a trustee with Niagara Catholic I had many opportunities to meet Monsignor and I always found him to be most gracious and humble. Our Diocese has lost a great man but I know that he is resting peacefully in the arms of God. May all of you find strength during this difficult time. Ed Nieuwesteeg

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Msgr. Vlad - he was a gentle and kind man, quick to smile and be supportive. Msgr. Vlad married us in 1983 when he was in Thorold, and then baptized our children (one at St. Mary's, one at the Cathedral). He will always be remembered fondly and we send our prayers to his family that they find solace in the love he had for his family. May Vlad rest in the arms of angels and be at peace.

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Msgr. Vladimir.
Msgr was instrumental in helping us to cope with the grief of losing a young family member. He was thoughtful and generous and provided comfort to us at a very difficult time.
We have never and will never forget the kindness that he extended to our family when we needed it the most. A true "Holy Man" who had a natural warmth about him that was evident in all that he did.
We will miss him. A wonderful man and a wonderful example for the church.

I pray for you in the words of John 17: "Father, I pray for those you have given me; keep them in your name; they are not of the world; sanctify them in truth; may the love with which you loved me be in them, and I in them." I met Msgr. years ago, back in my school days. He always made me smile...whether it was his kind and gentle spirit that brought a calm feeling, or his meaningful words that always rang true. I will remember him fondly. (and yes, when I was younger it was "pretty cool" to see him pulling up on a bike somewhere)
He was a gentle giant in my eyes that carried himself with grace, compassion, and true servitude. May he rest in peace with the Lord knowing that his light will continue to shine.
He has always been a constant support to our family.... through death and birth, and everything in between. Msgr was there.

Dragi Fr. Vlado,

On behalf of myself and all the parishioners of St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church I would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy at this time. We will remember Msgr. Vlad and the family in our prayers in a special way during this difficult time. "O God of all spirits and of all flesh, You trampled death, You made the devil powerless, and You gave life to Your world. Now O Lord, to the soul of your servant the priest Vladimir, who has fallen asleep, grant rest in a place of light, a place of pasture, and a place of tranquility, from which pain, and sorrow have fled. As the good and loving God, forgive every sin of thought word or deed, for there is no on who will live and will not sin, for You alone are sinless. Your justice is everlasting justice, and Your word is truth. For You, O Christ, our God, and the resurrection, the life and the repose of Your servant the priest Vladimir, who has fallen asleep, and we give glory to You, together with Your most holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now, always and forever. Amen.

An extraordinary MAN has passed. He embodied faith, hope and charity. There was a presence about him. He will be sorely missed. Our condolences to his family.
