Obituary of Luigi Battistone

BATTISTONE, Luigi October 27, 1932 - October 13, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luigi, a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Fulvia (Ciarrocca). Luigi was a loving father of Gino (Karen), proud grandfather to Anthony (Brettly), Andrew (Amy) and Amberly, and a recent great-grandfather to Samuel. Luigi is predeceased by his son Sammy. He is survived by his brother Elido (Irene). Spending time with his family was the most important thing for Luigi. A visit from his family always brought him great joy. His favourite past times were working in his garden, grabbing a cup of coffee with his fellow GM retirees and spending time at Club Roma. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Hamilton General Hospital CCU. Luigi's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, October 15th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 16th at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street at 11am. Rite of Committal following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
