VANDERLEE, Corry

 

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 58. Beloved husband and best friend of Lois for 35 years. Loving father of Krissy (Dave) and Stacey (James). Proud Grandpa to Nathan. Son to Germaine and John and son-in-law to Betty and the late Dale. Corry was the eldest brother to Mary-Louise (Ron), Larry (Patty), Shirley (Rod), Carolyn (Norm) and John (Megan). Brother-in-law to Dave (Peg), Lorraine (John) and Doug (Olga). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Corry fulfilled his dream of being a firefighter and was a Captain with the St. Catharines Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the True Sport Hunt Club. Motorcycling was his passion and he was a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club. Corry belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a past leader for Scouts Canada. The family would like to thank Dr. Leonard for his exceptional care and compassion as well as the nursing staff of the Walker Family Cancer Center and 3B Oncology. In accordance with Corry's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

 

He truly enjoyed living his life to the fullest.
