Obituary of Arthur "Art" McGarr

McGarr, Arthur Joseph Lewis "Art" Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Henley House, at the age of 86. Art is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ada. Cherished father of Sharon, Rick (Carol Ann), Rob, Ron (Lynda), Karen, Art Jr. and Russ (Tammy). He will be dearly missed by his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also by Ada's children Debbie (Steve), Cathi (Jim), Ricky (Lori) and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arthur was predeceased by his parents Arthur Sr. and Elsie. Art was a longtime member of the Lincoln & Welland Regiment and Past RSM, as his father was before him. A special thank you to the staff at Henley House for their care; and a special thanks to Chris for all his help over the years. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Friday, December 4, from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Art's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to the Department of Veteran's Affairs or to the Alzheimer Society.
