Obituary of Calogero Bennici

BENNICI, Calogero "Carlo" Passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy struggle and while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 17th at the age of 84. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years Rosalia and his beloved children Vince (Marsha Macey), John (Peggi) and Roy (Nancy). Cherished Nonno of Jennifer, Lisa (Kyle) , Leigh-Anne (Jeff) Hamilton, and Great Nonno of Cearra, Zoe, Hunter, Charlotte, Dallas, Jace and Tyler. He will be sorely missed by his many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends. Carlo was famous for his canolis and loved his flower and vegetable garden. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Lucey, nurses Colleen, Trish, Dorsey, Jennifer, and the Drs. and staff of the Juravinski Cancer Centre and Walker Family Cancer Centre. Carlo's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, December 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Monday, December 21st at 11am. Entombment following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
