Obituary of Alida Bos

BOS, Alida (Lily) Surrounded by her loving family, Alida passed away peacefully in her 82nd year at Mount Carmel Retirement Residence. She is predeceased by her husband Adrianus 'Ed' (1990), her brother Nol and sisters Fietje and Truus. Loving mother of her four daughters: Joyce (Richard) DiAngelo, Karen (Bob) Young, Yvonne (Danny) Wowk and Louise (Brian) Sheppard. Much loved Oma of Brianne, Chiara, Drew, Luke, Billy, Olivia, Elizabeth, Christopher, Craig, Chelsea and Ethan. She leaves behind two brothers and a sister in Holland and a sister-in-law in Niagara Falls. Alida had a very deep faith. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Benedictines, and the Tridentine Mass. Alida devoted many hours to making rosaries, scapulars, tending the church gardens and singing in various choirs. She led a very active life and enjoyed spending time with her family. The family extends sincere thanks to the Sisters and nursing staff of Mount Carmel for their loving care and attention. We also wish to thank CCAC and the head of Palliative Care, Nora Bridges for her dedicated compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, December 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Parish Latin Apostolate, 317 Morton St.,Thorold on Tuesday, December 29 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carmelite Sisters at 78 Yates St., St. Catharines. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. For the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day." (2 Timothy 4:7)
