Obituary of Pauline Distefano
DISTEFANO, Pauline
It is with great sadness and difficulty that we announce the death of our sister Pauline on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in her 73rd year. Pauline fought stage four cancer for the last 4 months, finally surrendering with her sisters at her side. She was predeceased by her parents Leon and Madeline, her brother George, and her baby sister Mary. She is survived by her sisters Claire Lacroix and Flo Distefano and also remembered by two nieces, three nephews and their families. You may remember Pauline as the friendly receptionist for many years at an Optometrist's on Ontario Street. She also served as a don at the Epworth Women's Residence for 5 years. Some of you may remember her as the woman who was walked by the white Shih-Tzu on Lake Street. As per her wishes, she has been cremated with a possible celebration of her life at a later date. She will be interred in her home of Alliston, Ontario. We wish to thank the angels of service at Hospice for helping her through her difficult journey. Arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara.
