Obituary of Ann Hicks
HICKS, Ann Kathryn (nee Dodington)
With her family by her side, Ann passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 73. Ann will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 51 years, Bill. Cherished mother of Derek (Patti) and special Grandma Ann to Rachael and Andrew. Dear sister of David (Donna) Dodington, the late Karen "Kai" (Vince) Brady and Walter Dodington. Sister-in-law of Judy (Bob) Cooney, Dennis (Jan) Hicks, the late Nancy (Glen) Seburn, Leanne (Bill) Doyle, Linda (Mark) McGlynn and Randy (Linda) Hicks. Ann will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Ann dedicated 36 years as a teacher with the District School Board of Niagara, retiring in 1998. She was an active member of the Maycourt Club of St. Catharines. Ann will be best remembered through her passion for gardening, her love of classical music and her family. A special thank you to Dr. Wasserman, Dr. Bokhari, staff on 3B and the Walker Family Cancer Clinic. In accordance with Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Ann's Life in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
