Obituary of Irma Genovese

GENOVESE, Irma - Peacefully with family by her side on Friday, January 29th, 2016 at Hospice Niagara in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband Giovanni (2001). Beloved mother of Gabriella (Dino) Pozzobon, Mary (Ian) Niven and John (Nancy) Genovese. Cherished Nonna of Dan (Meg), Michael (Brianne), Stephanie, Liam, Aaron, Nicole and Eric. Bisnonna of Jax, Tavis, Kellen and Braeden. Irma loved to play bingo with her friends at Club Roma and St. Alfred's Church but her greatest joy was her family and her garden. She loved to cook meals and bake and share her bounty of garden fruits and vegetables with all her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Kerley and all the staff and volunteers at Hospice Niagara for all their care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday, February 1st from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Monday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:30a.m. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill to follow. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
