Obituary of Giuseppe Cirone

CIRONE, Giuseppe It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe and take comfort in knowing that he is rejoining Ilonda, the love of his life. She was his foundation and pillar of strength. When she passed ten months ago, his decline into dementia accelerated. He died peacefully with the love and support of his family at Extendicare, March 16, 2016. One of six children, he was born on October 7, 1932 in Italy to Dominic and Anna. He married his wife the late Iolanda of 60 years - who died on May 16, 2015 (nee Biscotti) - on May 29, 1955. Together they moved to Canada with their family in 1968. Loving Father to Giuliano (Carmelita), Dominic (Antoinette), Rocco (Marina), Benito (Patricia), Gianni (Veronica), and Giorgio (Tina). Nonno to Mindy (Jason), Amy (Brian), Carlye (James), Catharine (Marcel), Joe (Giselle), Ali, Kelsey, Daniel, Joseph, Brianne (Wayne), Michael (Jessi), Shawn, Jonathan (Beth), Nathan, Samantha, Emily, Heather and Kyle. Biz-Nonno to Madison, Joshua, Hannah, Giuliana, Riley, Scarlett, Isabella, Graeme, Ruthie, Logan and another one en route. We would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for their care and compassion in our time of need. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Thursday, March 17 2016, from 2- 4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., with Vigil Prayers held in the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
