Obituary of Joan Betty Sadler
SADLER, Joan (Nee Roblin): 1932-2016 in her 84th year-Due to complications from pneumonia and long term respiratory problems, Joan enjoyed her independence until 1 ½ weeks ago. She is predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Mable Roblin, brother Ray, sister Bernice, former husband Harold Sadler and Grandson Jody Sadler(2007) and most recently her beloved dog Muffin. She leaves behind her sons Jody (Rhonda), Sandy (Cheryl), grandchildren Ryan (Gail), Alicia (Eric), Billy and great grandchildren Jessica and Connor and long-time companion Bill Atterbury, sister Doris and sister in law Eileen as well as several extended family members and friends. Joan was a lifelong resident of St. Catharines save for her first year or so in North Pelham where she was born. She enjoyed her family and had, in earlier years, much enjoyment from Sorority involvement, horseback riding and flying single engine aircraft with the St. Catharines Flying Club where she also served on the executive. Joan has always loved animals and would go out of her way to pay special attention to them, especially dogs. Her high standards were a pillar of inspiration to all who knew her and she expected those values in others. She will be fondly missed and lovingly remembered. Thanks to the NHS St. Catharines Hospital staff for their outstanding care. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 12th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Memorial Service will take place on Monday, June 13th at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to Niagara Dog Rescue, Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
