Obituary of Ron Ernest Holden

Holden, Ronald Ernest - Ron passed the way he lived, with dignity and grace on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 71 years with his loving wife by his side. Devoted husband of 39 years to Chris. Cherished dad of Karen (Shawn) Nicol and Neil (Nicole). Beloved Papa to Alyssa, Alexander, Allison, and Aliya. Will be sadly missed by his brother Glenn "Dean" and other family members. Happily and proudly retired from Vincor for 39 years. Ron was active with the Pinecrest Revolver and Gun Club and was the past secretary for this organization. He was previously involved with the Optimist Club of St. Catharines, and St. Catharines Motor Club for many years. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of the Oncology Department and Unit 3B at the St. Catharines General Hospital for the care and compassion to Ron. Family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday between 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:30 am with a reception to take place in the funeral home. A private family burial will follow the service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. The family kindly requests that no flowers with fragrance come to the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Pinecrest Revolver and Gun Club (c/o Erin Youngblut - Canadian Biathlete) or St. Catharines General Hospital - Walker Cancer Centre in Ron's honour.
