Obituary of John E. Secord

SECORD, John Edward John passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the age of 85. John was a graduate of Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture and the proprietor of Oakdale Landscaping. He can also be remembered for selling glads on Queenston Street. Grandpa was a proud supporter of all of the activities of his 5 children and 10 grandchildren. John was predeceased by his wife Betty (2013) and survived by his children Margaret (Ray), Ian (Kelley) Secord, Heather (Rick) Mooradian, Jo-Anna (Tim) Fawcett, Merri-Lynn (Sunil) MacKinnon; his grandchildren Keirstyn and Scott Secord; Lindsay (Steve) and Laura Mooradian; Sarah (Silviu), Ellen and Nathan Fawcett; Samantha, Jonathan and Thomas MacKinnon. Thank you to the wonderful care provided to John by the staff at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, September 15 from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, September 16 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The interment for John and Betty will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation.
