I'm so sorry to hear about Dick's passing & my sincere condolences to the Vanstone Family.
I first met Dick in 1994 as he was the coach of the St. Catharines Cardinals of the Ontario Vintage Baseball League (35 years & older). I was a rookie then I never met a nicer guy. He was competitive but also knew how to wind down after a game. When things went awry which they often did, he was the master of the phrase "a cluster...k". I know he liked his fishing but he also liked his baseball. Many good memories Dick. Thanks.

Our condolences from the Lake family to yours...Dick was a family member of our neighbors Gay and Bob Bandeen, we would always see Dick there, and he always had a great big smile on his face, that will not be forgotten...Always in our prayers, may Dicks smiling face shine down on his family as he watches over all of you...

I worked at Sears St. Catharines during the "good times" in the 1970s and 1980s when the staff was like a big family. Dick was always colourful and fun, with a zest for humour and a flair for public speaking. His hearty laugh and charming personality will be remembered by all who knew him and had the pleasure of working with him. All the fish on earth can breathe a little easier with Dick's hook absent from these waters, but the ones in heaven better watch out. My condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.

I came to St.Catharines some 20 years ago to complete a huge renovation at the Sears store in the Penn. Dick was one of the first managers that I met. He committed himself to help ensure that this Reno was both completed on time and was successful. We became great friends and he showed me how to really fish. Dick thanks for your friendship and may your line always be tight. Rest in peace. Colin
