Sincere sympathy to the family of Martha. Although our contacts of 'hello' were brief they were at regattas and especially at the Guelph CORA regattas over the years, where Martha always came by the food table to stay thank you for hosting the CORA regatta. Martha was really one of a kind, an amazing woman and wonderful person. What an inspiration for us all on how to treat others. I now need to 'be more like Martha' more often, and I know so many others who agree with that sentiment. You always felt better after seeing Martha. I will miss our chats on the dock and in the locker room, catching up on this and that, and of course being out on the water with her.

Dear Louise, I was saddened to read of Martha's untimely death. I am afraid the last time we were in touch was at your mother's funeral, and that was awhile back. Our son Jock was a rower so I know about the pull to be on the river.i gather she was living in St. Catherine. When I was still a member at the B and R I did see Martha occasionally there, I am afraid that was awhile ago also. I am still on the farm they will have to carry me off,I still love it. Thinking of you.
Love. Joan

Martha,
A very gracious lady!
I worked with her at Young & Wright Architects for a couple years.('84, 85) We were then re-acquainted at the Argonaut Rowing Club. Always a calm in a storm!
I have many happy dockside conversations, mostly about rowers rather than rowing!
She was an amazing supporter of Junior Rowing and of Humberside Rowing.
She will be deary missed and never forgotten.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Martha's tragic accident last week. I have known Martha my whole life as my mother was also one of her Branksome friends. I will never forget her warmth, kindness and infectious enthusiasm. She was truly unique in her ability to make each of us feel special, and will be sorely missed by the many who knew and loved her. I will remember her by continuing to be inspired to try to be positive, encouraging and interested in all those who cross my path.
My condolences to the Coffey family and adopted family members everywhere.

We are greatly saddened by Martha's sudden passing. My prayers go out to her family. She was a wonderful person, with whom I had the pleasure of working with for 11 years.
It always amazed me that she had so much perseverance to get up so early in the mornings to be out on the water. A place, I believe, she felt the most comfortable.
Be at peace Martha...you will be missed

It is with a heavy heart that I hear the sad news of Martha's passing. I have had the pleasant opportunity of sitting through many DDRA meetings with Martha in preparation for our annual event. Although I am from the canoeing section of the event, the loss of Martha's contribution will be greatly missed. My condolences to the entire Coffey family.
